What Is a Brush Made of?
Hairs
It allows the paint to be transferred to the canvas.
Animal bristles have historically been used in brushes, but nowadays the use of synthetic bristles is becoming more and more common.
As Caddyarts, we do not prefer to take the health risks that may arise from the use of natural bristles and we produce our brushes with synthetic bristles.
Ferrule
It allows the brush to be held and moved easily.
Brush handles can be made of wood and plastic.
Caddy arts prefers a wooden handle for a healthy crimping process.
Brush handle
It keeps the bristles in a certain form.
Ferrules are made of brass or aluminum material. Caddyarts uses aluminum ferrule against corrosion. It is combined with the ferrule handle by crimping.
What are the Brush Types?
Round Brush
The round brush takes its name from both the shape of the bristles and the shape of the ferrule. It is the most common among brush types. Its pointed tip allows for detailed work.
Flat Brush
The bristles are extended in a rectangular shape. Useful for quickly and evenly covering a large area and providing a wavy brush stroke.
Bright Brush
The Bright brush is very similar to the flat brush but shorter, with the bristles extended in a square shape. Provides more control than a flat brush. Pig bristle or stiff synthetic bristle is preferred for oily and acrylic paints.
Mop Brush
They can have a rounded or domed tip. They are designed to hold a lot of water regardless of their shape. They are often used for making watercolors. They are usually made of soft bristles.
It is also called a cat tongue brush. It is made of all kinds of bristles. It is preferred for more detailed works than a flat brush.
Filbert Brush
Angle Brush
It is like a flat brush, but it is made by arranging the bristles at an angle. It allows working in a wider area and more detailed than a flat brush.
Fan Brush
Fan brushes are used to blend or soften colors. They are also suitable for making grass or leaves. They can be made of hard bristles or softer bristles.
Rigger Brush
It is a small brush that tapers to a fine point.
They are useful for painting fine detail and elongated lines, as they hold more paint than a round brush.
What is Ferrule Clamping/Crimping?
After the ferrules are combined with the handle, the ferrule and the wooden handle are combined by crushing them over the ferrule in a controlled manner so that they can be better clamped together. In brushes joined with glue, ferrule separation may occur as a result of mechanical vibrations and waiting in thinner. The crimping process prevents this undesired result from occurring.
Sharpening the Bristles
Before the brushes are sold, the bristles are sharpened. For this process, the gum arabic applied brushes are moved on a towel.
In order to protect this form until it reaches the end user, the packaging is done carefully or a protective cap is used.
